Q. What is a "Micro- Grip" guitar pick?

A. "Micro-Grip" is the term we use
to describe the pick surface.
Our "Micro-Grip" machine adds a
brushed surface to the pick on both sides
to increase your grip with a non-slip surface.

Q. Why are the "Micro-Grip" guitar picks larger than other picks?

A. We decided to make the "Micro-Grip" series picks a little bigger than a standard guitar pick because they were intended to be used primarily on acoustic guitars for strumming. In doing this, we also discovered that these
larger guitar picks had a better tone quality because of the increased flexibility relative to the thickness chosen (lighter picks for a lighter sound, heavier picks for a more aggressive sound).

Q. What are the "Micro-Grip" flat picks made of?

A. An extrusion grade plastic with a tensile strength of approximately 9000 psi.

Q. What other good qualities do the picks have?

A. In many years of playing with guitar picks that cracked at the tip, we wanted to make a pick that would not crack. We decided that forming the pick edges with a custom die would increase the strength of the pick edge. It worked! To my knowledge, none of our picks have ever broken.

Q. What other products do you make?

A.  We are now  molding a pick primarily for single note playing called the
Precision 1.2M which is made out of the same material as our "Micro-Grip" flat pick.  This pick offers a unique edge that will increase your speed and will have significantly less edge wear.

Impact Picks Forming and Material Type

Our pick material is an Acetal(POM) copolymer material.
Many guitar picks are made from this type of material but with different
formulations. There are about 600 different formulations of this type of
plastic material.

Some guitar pick manufacturers make their guitar picks from an acetal material.
It is a great polymer for guitar picks as an alternative to natural materials that are no longer allowed to be used.
Our pick material is a special formulation of this type of material.
It has a brighter sound we believe.
The way our picks are formed is also different than other conventional
methods. We form the guitar pick shape with special tooling which strengthens the edges and adds to the enhanced sound characteristics.
The size also adds to the "snap" you feel when you are playing, making this pick a great pick for strumming and also helps the player pick up notes between rhythm strokes. This is what the picks were designed for.
Besides the forming process, we have added a surface that is better for
gripping than many of the other picks out there. This is
our exclusive "Micro-Grip" surface.
Enjoy and thanks for trying our picks.
I hope this is helpful in understanding our guitar picks.
